Second Saturdays at Sunnyside Up

Second Saturdays at SunnySide Up, 116 NW Third St., 6-8 p.m., will be an Open Mic hosted by Casandra Robertson
The April event will support Alternatives to War.

Sat. April 12th will be Second Saturday's first Open Mic.  We welcome your participation with song or poetry, for a seven (7) minute slot.

Laurie Childers will be coordinating early sign-ups - send her an email using our Contact Page (Seven minutes is two regular songs or one long one - please no extended introductions, let's keep the rhythm of the evening moving right along.)

We have many talented people in our little town, and we hope to have a dynamic variety show.  All ages welcome to perform!  If there is time, we will cycle through the list.

If you are a duo or a trio, you can have a double slot.  Please let her know, and what microphones and plug-ins you will want.    We will have a basic amp with 4 inputs, and we are hoping to keep the technology simple!

The show is (as always) at Sunnyside Up Cafe, 116 NW 3rd. St, from 6 - 8 pm.  Please come by 6 unless you make arrangements otherwise.  We will also have signups that night, IF we still have space.

Second Saturdays is sponsored by Corvallis Alternatives to War, Chapter 132 of Veterans for Peace, and the Troubadour Music Center. Alternatives to War arose after the September 11, 2001, airplane attacks in New York and Washington when the U.S. response was to bomb a country, Afghanistan, rather than to seek justice. One of the projects that the local peace group developed is this series of concerts which features local musicians and raises money for causes that benefit peace and international understanding. A donation of $5.00 is requested.
