Beneficiary: Middle East Children's Alliance
Please join us on February 14 for the Second Saturday Concert . These concerts are a good way to support a worthy cause and at the same time have an enjoyable evening out with family and friends while listening to some good local music. We suggest a donation of $5 per person. So far, concert goers have been very generous and some go way over the top with their donations. We appreciate any amount and hope to see you in the audience on Valentine's Day, February 14.
At 6PM, hear Ralph Penenuri and Beth Brown followed by Cassandra Robertson at 7. Singer-songwriter Ralph Penunuri and cellist-fiddler Beth Brown have a vibrant musical rapport as they create diverse lyrical landscapes. Original story songs are weaved through deep root tapestries of chamber folk stylings and swing-bop snapshot revelry. Both musicians have been connected to the Corvallis music scene for many years, performing as well as organizing musical events and publicity.
Cassandra Robertson is a conduit for all things positive. Her original songs shed light on the unlimited potential of the human spirit, inspiring her audience to revolutionize their own lives. Cassandra’s variety of progressive folk-grass, funk and new age indie pop appeals to a wide array of music fans, while holding its roots in the singer/songwriter folk traditions.

The Middle East Children's Alliance (MECAforPeace.org )is a non-profit humanitarian aid organization that has been serving the Gaza community for twenty years. They have delivered more than $10 million in food, medicine and medical supplies to children in the West Bank and Gaza, Iraq and Lebanon. MECA also provides financial assistance to community groups working with children in Palestine/Israel.
Since January 21, MECA's director and founder, Barbara Lubin, has been in Gaza delivering and distributing four tons of medicine for infants and children which MECA purchased in Europe. She and other MECA volunteers have been working with long term partners in Gaza, bringing food, water, and vital supplies to the people, still reeling from weeks of Israeli attacks which have killed 1300 people, at least 400 of whom are children. "The destruction and trauma in the Gaza Strip is even greater than I expected," Lubin said.
